Views of Our Academy

Our most recent Ofsted inspection (June 2015) found us to be a good across all areas. Inspectors highlighted our good, caring and supportive environment and how pupils feel happy and safe because of our good relationships and good safeguarding arrangements. Similarly, in January 2015, the local authority graded us as a school "securing good".

We pride ourselves on the close partnership that we have with parents and carers and there are many opportunities to be involved with school activities. For example, we hold regular ‘Stay and Make’ sessions where parents can come along and take part in family learning alongside their children. These events are always very popular. Parents attend our many concerts and class assemblies throughout the year and can volunteer to help in school with activities such as baking; listening to children read or fund raising events for example. We have a dedicated Pastoral Manager on the staff to help parents and families whenever and however a little extra support is needed. Responses to parent/carer questionnaires about the school are always very positive overall.

Pupil discussion also shows how that they feel happy and safe and enjoy coming to school. They have a very good attitude to their work.

Parents express very positive views of the school. They spoke warmly to an inspector of the good care and support pupils receive.

Grange Lane is very well regarded in the community and we have close links for example, with local churches, with universities and colleges and with local charitable organisations.
