  • Safer Internet Day

    Year 1 and 2 have been designing posters and having discussions about how to keep safe on the internet for Safer Internet Day 2018.







                                                                           













    We talked about what information you shouldn't share online and what to do if you feel worried about anything on the computer or tablet. We also discussed how much time is appropriate to spend on our devices.



  • Young Voices

    A huge well done to our year 2 choir for their fabulous effort and contribution to the Young Voices concert at the Sheffield arena this week.

    It is also the last time Mrs Van Steen will be taking the children as the lead choir teacher as she is taking retirement at the end of this month.

  • Parents into Breakfast Club

    15th December 2017

    On Friday 15th we invited parents to join us for breakfast in our FREE magic breakfast club!

    We appreciate how busy everyone is and we thank everyone for stopping those extra few minutes for a quick bowl of cereal or a bagel with their child before starting another busy day.

    It was also opportunity for those who wanted a taster session, to find out how the club works and what delicious healthy choices for breakfast we have available and all for FREE!

     

  • Santa!

    1st December 2017

    Thank you to the PTFA (Parents, Teachers, Friends Association) of Grange Lane Infant Academy for arranging a very special visitor for our school.

    One very cool Santa came to visit. With many ho ho ho's, loads of presents and numerous belly laughs, he made our day extra special. Santa's chief elf took photographs of all the little visitors to his grotto and will have them delivered in time for Christmas break.

  • Anti Bullying Week continued ....

    We all took part in the ‘Wear Odd Socks’ campaign for Anti-Bullying Week! We had lots of fun showing off our odd socks and the grown-ups joined in too! We talked about the importance of ‘it’s okay to be different’ and what to do if somebody makes you feel upset.

    In Reception we talked about differences and similarities in ourselves. We thought about how we could be kind to others to make them feel special and happy. We also talked about what to do if somebody was unkind to us; ignore them, walk away and tell

  • Odd Socks for Anti-Bullying

    This week is anti-bullying week and to help raise awareness we wore odd socks on Monday to show that being different is okay!

    We had long, short, stripy, fluffy, spotty, character and even donut patterned socks and every year group including Little Grangers joined in with the fun.

  • Operation Christmas Child - Non Uniform Day

    Thank you everyone for coming in non-uniform and donating towards Pastor Simpson's Operation Christmas child.

    The children loved filling the boxes full of gifts for children who are not as fortunate. More details about the scheme can be found here

  • Little Granger's get spooky

    Who are all these scary monsters and superheroes in the Little Granger's today?  We even have a special little princess who is 3 today.

  • Thank you for the Harvest

    We hope you enjoyed the harvest assemblies performed by our reception, year 1 and 2 children today and yesterday.

    On behalf of Doncaster Foodbank we would like to thank everyone who donated items of dried, tinned and packet food, toiletries and baby food which will go towards helping many of people from our surrounding community. In 2016, Doncaster foodbank gave out 4000 emergency food parcels to adults and children in crisis in Doncaster. This amounts to over 40,000 meals provided to local people who might

  • Visitors to our Magic Breakfast Club

    Our breakfast club would not be FREE if it wasn't for Magic Breakfast, they supply our bagels, juice and cereals ensuring every child at Grange Lane have the opportunity for a healthy breakfast within our breakfast club or even a breakfast top up when bagels visit the classrooms during registration.

    Most recently Magic Breakfast have gained support from Amazon UK. So Stuart and Richard from our local Amazon joined us for a Magic Breakfast, found out a little more about our school and even had a game of chess

  • Extreme Reading Competition

    WOW our Extreme reading competition was very popular and saw many children taking part. A huge thank you to all the children and parents that got involved, it was a great success. Welldone to the winner Archie Richardson from The Penguins class. He was photographed reading Tiddler - the storytelling fish with his sister Grace at the top of Hallin Fell in the Lake District.

     

  • Pride of Rossington Awards

    On Saturday we went to the Pride of Rossington Awards.

    Our very own Mrs Chappell was nominated for Contribution to the Community award for all her work improving the school for our younger pupils and the additional provisions she has added such as the free breakfast club since being in headship.

  • Extreme Reading

    Evidence of Extreme Reading is being sent already!

    Some amazing places have been found to sit and enjoy a good story, we've had in a caravan, on a ferry, very high up over looking Ullswater, in the swimming baths, at the hairdressers, sat on a pony and even infront of the turntable at Kirklees Railway!

    Keep them coming in - they are going to make an amazing display!
