Grange Lane Infants receives funding for in-school nursery!

Earlier this year, our academy was announced as one of the first 300 primary schools to receive funding for our school-based nursery thanks to the government’s early years expansion.

We recognised that our 2-year-old nursery and our main nursery were becoming over subscribed for a number of reasons such as new housing developments, 30 hour provision and more recently 2 year funding. We are fortunate to have a large separate building which is currently used by just 15 2 year old children per nursery sessions which is significantly less than the buildings floor pan so therefore we had unused space which met the criteria for the funding.

With the DFE funding we aim to rejig and develop unused space to enable us to offer early 3’s nursery education alongside that of our existing 2 year old provision. Within the bid we are also aiming to develop the outdoor area to ensure that provision of early year education is of the highest standards and replicate that of our main nursery. This will include sensory paths, climbing and exploring areas plus mud kitchens and messy play.
