VE Day

In celebration of the 80^th Anniversary of Victory in Europe, children of Grange Lane Infant Academy had a special visit from ‘Sargent’ Gary who put them through their paces with strict marches and tests such as reading and being able to salute.

He then decided who would be suitable for conscription into the army to help fight the war. The training was so good by the end of the session some of our soldiers were even awarded medals!

Year 1 and 2 children also found about rations and evacuation and all the different jobs people had to do in this most difficult time.

All children made some amazing bunting, decorations and keepsakes for our VE celebrations too!
