Careers Week – Museum Curators

Tracey and Lisa visited from Danum Gallery and Library Museum.

We found out that inside there is a rail heritage area, an art gallery with sculptures and a library.

There are lots of people who work in the building all doing different jobs. There is an art curator who researches art and does displays, a gallery guide who tells you where all the areas are, an archeologist who knows all about history and digging up artifacts, a social historian who a can tell you lots of things about history and a learning team who visit schools and take schools around the building.

To train to be a librarian you need qualifications, a lot of people are ex primary teachers. You have to like reading, be helpful, like numbers, sorting books and like working with children.
