Our history curriculum creates learners who are intrigued and curious about how the past has shaped the world they live in. We develop the minds of our young historians through our key drivers:

Pupils develop a greater understanding of local, British and global history by being transported back in time to significant events. The history curriculum enables pupils to understand the themes and trends of past civilisations and how Britain and the world has changed over time. They gain knowledge about the social, moral and cultural changes throughout time. Pupils use these to reflect on similarities and differences of historic civilisations. Historical sources are used to answer enquiry questions; they provide knowledge of how the past is put together and how sources have varied throughout time.

Pupils also learn about significant people and events. These may be local, British or world disasters, industrial change, civilisations or conflicts.
